Rule Proposals 28
On the passing of this proposition, a new Sub Forum would be made, called "Moderator nominations". In this subforum, people would nominate who they they should be a moderator, along with skitzer, and any outstanding moderators.
To be moderator:
1. Must have at least 100 posts.
2. Must be nominated
3. Must be seconded by someone else.
4. skitzer must agree.

I noticed because your name, and only your name, disappeared when I sorted all players by Last Visit time
And I would see a "hidden" player whenever you were around.

2 Notes:
1: This will eventually lead to everyone meeting the first requirement. Perhaps gradually increasing the number of needed posts?
2: This might cause some spamming, to get to the post requirement.

Re: Rule Proposals 28
Instead of an 'overall post count' requirement, how about a 'weekly post count' requirement that could be calculated with the total posts that person's made and how long they've been members. Something like "In order to qualify for Moderator duty, a player must maintain at least 10 posts/week."

Re: Rule Proposals 28
I've been on here for 10 days and I have 89 posts...
How about 40 posts / week?
And there still might be spamming?

Re: Rule Proposals 28
Wouldn't the current proposal encourage spamming? I would support a smiple nomination and voting of Moderators rather than this.

I feel like as long as there's an election-based policy for removing inactive moderators, we'll be fine. People aren't going to nominate and vote for people who aren't actually active players.
I agree with Pentadragon on the spam thing, too.

Re: Rule Proposals 28
Well, if someone spammed, we could impeach (which could be another proposal) them or skitzer would kick them off, or not let them to be a moderator in the first place.

Re: Rule Proposals 28
That's true.
However, I think Mokina and Penta are correct that all we need is the nomination and vote to make a mod (and skitzer's agreement, of course).

Who cares about spamming?
I dont think there should be a post requirement for mod, as moderators are charged with the duty of website upkeep, which doesnt matter as far as Nomic is concerned
As such, I believe Moderators should be assigned by current Moderators, regardless of the will of the players

The post requirement should go. It'd lead to too many problems without any pay out.

Re: Rule Proposals 28
Listen... if we need another mod, skitzer will be the first to know. He will then put forth several proposals, each with a prospective mod that he can live with. The community votes on them, and whoever receives the most votes becomes a moderator.
We can handle this informally; I don't see the need for a system at the moment.

Addendum to what I was saying earlier
Mods assign Mods. The will of the people has no say in issues of site upkeep, as it has nothing to do with the game itself. The end.
God: All right guys, Its gotten a bit difficult maintaining the world, so I'm going to need one of you to help me
People: Thats all right God. Here, We voted Bam to be Co-God with you.
God: ...Bam? No no no, I was gonna make UA Co-God.
People: Well, we think Bam is an excellent person and contributes excellent things and we think he should be distinguished with God-hood
God: But he's technologically incompetent, and there's reports of him being the Nomian Prostitute. UA has a whole resume page dedicated to places he's been God of, and is most definatly NOT the Nomian prostitute. UA is Co-God
People: REBEL!

Re: Rule Proposals 28
People are focusing way too much on the 100 posts things. like Mokina said, people won't get nominated if they spam. Also, skitzer would have to agree, so if he didn't want to have more mods, he could just say "not right now".
Maybe a 1 nomination per player might help, too.
I'm all for an ammendment, too.

Re: Rule Proposals 28
No, I think UA's nailed it on the head. We simply don't need this proposition (and more importantly, neither does skitzer), so this is just going to get in the way when the time comes to select an auxiliary mod.
